GED Information
Taking your GED
The GED Test measures your "General Educational Development". This test covers four separate subjects, including reasoning through language arts, science, social studies, and mathematical reasoning. It is a measurement of your problem solving and critical thinking skills. When you pass all four tests, you receive a credential certifying that your educational understanding is the same or better than a high school graduate.
Registering for a Test
- Go to GED.com and create an account.
- Sign into your account to register
- Find a testing center near you.
In our area they are:
Bristol Public Library (same room as our classroom)
Higher Ed Center (check-in room 246)
Galax Crossroads (same room as our classroom)
If you are enrolled in one of our classes, your instructor will walk you through this process.
Transcripts
Go to www.ged.com and click on Grads and Transcripts. You will have already created your account when you registered for the test.

(VALRC) provides adult education and literacy resources, publications, and training for teachers of adults in Virginia. You can view all available resources on the VALRC website.
